Swimarathon 2016

Ninety plus students from SSHS took part in the annual SWIMARATHON this year, which we run, not only to raise money for local good causes but also as an inter-house competition. On the morning of Friday October 9th this year, four teams each from our three houses (Brecqhou, Jethou and Lihou), swam in relay for an hour at a time. As a result the school raised £1,609.21 on the day (with a little more still to be collected) for local good causes, the main one of which is the ‘Guernsey Cheshire Home’.

At the SWIMARATHON AWARDS CEREMONY, held at Beau Sejour on Wednesday 21st October, Brecqhou Team One received a trophy for the most laps swam by a team in their age group. Mr Nicolle received the trophy ‘for the greatest contribution to Guernsey Swimarathon’, both trophies were presented by the Baliff, Richard Collas.
